What’s In The Bible – Back for a Third Adventure

Oliver did for TV chefs. Phil Vischer, creator of the global-sensation VeggieTales, has returned with a new DVD project that breaks all rules, rips up the script and leaves viewers – of almost every age – educated, inspired and hungry for more.

They say that kids want high-tech CGI not puppets and flannelgraph. They say that the Bible and comedy don’t mix. They say that you can’t teach a five year old about the Pentateuch. Well, they obviously haven’t seen What’s In The Bible.
‘I’ve never been more excited about a children’s DVD series,’ says bestselling author Francis Chan. ‘I started out watching with my 4 and 5 year olds. Before long, my 10 and 14 year olds were intrigued, as well as my wife. I’m amazed that it kept the attention of all of us while teaching us all key biblical truths.’

In this third DVD Buck Denver and friends travel through Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy to finish the exploration of the Pentateuch… with hilarious, enlightening and engaging results.
Yes, we know that hilarious, enlightening and engaging aren’t words that usually close out sentences that talk about study of Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, but What’s In The Bible is like no other kids’ Bible resource.

Wanderin’ in the Desert contains two 25-minute episodes. Part one gets stuck into the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ of the Bible, unpicking even the weird ones and learning why God gave all these rules to Israel and which ones still apply to us today.
In part two we learn about Israel’s 40-year ‘time-out’ as we finish the first five books of the Bible, discovering why we can believe what the Bible says – even though we weren’t there to see it happen.

What we’re trying to do now, though, is connect all those dots to show kids the big picture. Instead of teaching Christian values, we’re teaching Christianity.
