Where do you see yourself heading this season?

I believe this season begins a consolidation for my life. I’ve prayed for many years that God would settle many aspects of my life. I’ve lived in a few cities in the USA; pursued several career interests and many times became frustrated about what God was doing with my life. Through prophetic utterances, I’ve known since 16 years old that God has called me to evangelize, but possessing several talents and spiritual gifts, it became challenging to understand His direction at times. So, I pray this season is an actual consolidation process of everything He’s given; therefore to be blessed and pleasing to the Kingdom.

I Am Love – 08.08.08 is actually a Gospel rendition of the chart topping 1983, Jennifer Holliday “I Am Love” original recording. I was in Sydney, Australia, in the airport waiting for a flight on my way to Melbourne, Australia. After eating breakfast in the terminal, I play the original recording in my MP3 player and suddenly realized the lyrical structure could actually be converted into a great worship and praise ballad. So, I took out my notebook and the new lyrics started to come forth. Upon completing the song months later, the revelation of what had been written changed me! I received a deeper appreciation of God’s love that is shed abroad in my heart, given by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5). I believe with all my heart, this song will cause listeners to reflect on the goodness of the Lord; His presences in our lives and why we become everything He is; because we possess the Kingdom of God within us, receiving Christ in our hearts.

What advice would you give to groups, soloists, the young rapper, writer or producer who may be struggling?

If what you’re doing is for the glory of God, He will provide for you! Many times, I’ve discovered that many struggle because they don’t have the proper information that will help them get to where they desire to go. The nature of our flesh leads us to take as many short cuts we can find. I always tell people that the easy train will only take you but so far; you’ll always be looking for another source to get you to the next place; many times not realizing you’ve been going in a circle. My advice is to learn everything that you can, don’t be too quick to spend money if there is pressure. Before making any financial decision to spend money, get three quotes and make sure you’re receiving the quality and service for your money! You don’t have to struggle, if you have the information. Many don’t want you to receive precise information, in order that you’ll always be at their mercy. Education is power and with that, when God gives you direction; you’ll be able to use your resources to pursue His plan; and what’s beyond your capacity, He makes the provision to supply all your needs according His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. The world right now is wide open; information to do whatever you need to accomplish is actually on the internet for free! So, it’s actually all up to you; most times when individuals are struggling, they’re actually struggling with themselves, because the harvest has come! If you find yourself struggling in any capacity, it’s not always because you’re doing something wrong; many times it’s God, enlarging your capacity, later revealing the new direction. But it will always tie into what he’s already purposed. You’ll give him praise the moment you recognize what the Kingdom has been up to; you just wait and see!

What is the overall mission of D'Morea Johnson?
|
|
D’Morea
|
From what God has been doing with my life thus far, I know that He will continue the work that He’s begun, according to His word. I will continue to pursue everything that He places in my heart, and obedience will always render blessings that will overflow, enabling me to be a beacon to others that will come after me. Just as we have great bible stories of those whom have served and trusted God before us; we are living scriptures today, for those who will read about our faith and how we served and trusted God in this day! I can’t predict my mission, but I can say; I’m reaching my destiny which is in the making, to God be the glory for all the things he has done, and will continue to do!
