Chase The Dream is an album designed to inspire people to fulfil their God-given purpose. On the album I touch different subjects but there is a consistent theme or undertone i.e. Be you; Be everything GOD made you to be.

Where do you see yourself heading this season?
S.O.E.
By GOD’s grace I want to keep making music as well as branch out into other areas e.g. film production, fashion etc. I’m in the process of launching a clothing line with my wife. Where possible I want to also help other artists to come to terms with the business side of the music industry. My current ebook – ‘Your Guide To The Music Industry’ should GOD willing serve as a useful resource. I also plan to help develop two artists that I currently manage.

There are some great writers and producers on this project. Tell us about how you collaborated.

GOD made it happen! I got to work with 7 really talented producers on the album. Each brought their own unique feel to the album and together we were able to make some great heartfelt music.

What are your favourite tunes on the CD and why?
S.O.E.
That’s a hard question! I have a lot of favourites! ‘Change’ Feat Coco Dupri is one of them. This is among my favourites because of the beat, the melody and the subject matter. ‘Think Outside The Box’ is another one for different reasons. Too often we play it safe when it comes to music or any other endeavour in life. If you look at the lives of truly successful people you will see that they think outside the box. ‘Won’t bring me down’, ‘Keep that script’ and ‘How they sound’ are also up there among my favourite cuts because lyrically I think that they are tight.

What advice would you give to groups, the soloist, the young rapper, writer or producer who may be struggling?

S.O.E.
No matter how it seems keep chasing your GOD-given dreams! Trust GOD for the creativity, finances, strategy etc. One word from GOD can change your life forever. I would also say that as artists we need to invest time in our craft by rehearsing, polishing our live performances etc.

Who are some of the artists or musicians that have influenced you today?
S.O.E.
I don’t have any main influences. I listen to varied music styles. If I have to pin point any today it would probably be artists like Common and Kanye West mainly because of the feel of their music.
